Virtual Reality Movies: Other Camps

Each panorama movie is available in two file sizes. The small movies display at the same size on your computer screen as the large movies, but the small movies do not allow you to zoom in on as much detail as the large movies do. All movies are a full circle (360 degrees) unless noted otherwise.

Buchenwald Center of Camp

[SMALL MOVIE] 976 K [LARGE MOVIE] 2.5 MB

This VR opens with a view of the camp gate from the center of the camp barracks area. (The foundations of the former barracks are indicated by the rectangles of dark stone.) Moving to the right, the prisoner's canteen with the red roof comes into view. Rotating approximately 180 degrees from the canteen, the large storehouse may be seen. Continuing to the right is the crematorium with its single chimney.

Dachau International Memorial

[SMALL MOVIE] 604 K [LARGE MOVIE] 1.4 MB

This movie was shot from the center of the Appellplatz (roll call square). It opens with a view of the "International Memorial" in front of the Wirtschoftsbebäude housing the kitchen, laundry, storage rooms, and the "shower baths" where the SS would torture prisoners by flogging and hanging them at the stake.

Dachau Large Crematorium

[SMALL MOVIE] 608 K [LARGE MOVIE] 1.2 MB

The Large Crematorium (Baracke X) was constructed in 1942 when the original smaller crematorium was no longer adequate. The view is from the open doors to the crematorium.

Neuengamme Brick Factory Interior

[SMALL MOVIE] 604 K [LARGE MOVIE] 2.8 MB

View the inside of one wing of the Neuengamme brickworks.

Neuengamme Brick Yard

[SMALL MOVIE] 528 K [LARGE MOVIE] 1.5 MB

This 180 degree VR shows two of the three wings of the Neuengamme Brickworks.

[SMALL MOVIE] 852 K [LARGE MOVIE] 3.2 MB

This 180 degree VR shows the location of the former Plaszow camp.

Plaszow (2)

[SMALL MOVIE] 772 K [LARGE MOVIE] 3.3 MB

This 180 degree VR shows the location of the former quarry at the Plaszow camp.

Ravensbrück Memorial Plaza (1)

[SMALL MOVIE] 1.5 MB [LARGE MOVIE] 3.2 MB

This VR opens with the prison center and the crematorium on the right. Continuing to the right is the wall of nations. Because this camp was used by the military in the post-war years, commemoration ceremonies were held outside the walls. Further to the right, Will Lammert's Burdened Woman sculpture looks out over Lake Schwedt.

Ravensbrück Memorial Plaza (2)

[SMALL MOVIE] 600 K [LARGE MOVIE] 2.7 MB

This 180 degree VR was taken at the base of Will Lammert's Burdened Woman memorial. In the background are seen the crematorium (with chimney) and the wall of nations.

Sachsenhausen Memorial and Museum

[SMALL MOVIE] 604 K [LARGE MOVIE] 2.8 MB

Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp is located north of Berlin. This panorama was made from the center of the camp and includes the "Liberation" monument, camp kitchen, granite blocks marking former locations of barracks, prison, roll call area in front of Tower A, infirmary, and laundry.
